Ghana Reinsurance Company, being mindful of its stakeholders and the environment, believes in the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR). We fully appreciate the fact that, there is the need to align our core values, businesses and operations with societal norms for the overall good of all stakeholders. Our CSR standpoint focuses on four key areas: workplace, business partners, community and environment.
In line with the above, Ghana Re sets aside a percentage of its budgeted pre-tax profits to be used as gifts and donations to deserving institutions. The company has accordingly over the years exhibited such immense commitment to the promotion of educational and health programmes thereby fulfilling its duties as a good corporate citizen.
In addition, the Company since 1998 has made annual donations to some selected educational and health institutions in the country. The aim is to assist government provide the necessary foundation for skilled human resource; equip some facilities to provide good practical training environment as well support the needy but brilliant students in our society.
Some of these institutions include College of Health Sciences, Korle Bu, School of Medical Sciences (Kumasi) Department of Child Health, Korle Bu, University of Ghana, Legon (SFAO), Urology (GU) Department, Korle Bu, Ghana Heart Foundation and the Ghana National Trust Fund.
In 2016 the Company donated a total amount GH¢165,000.00 to the said institutions.
