The newly appointed Board of Directors of Ghana Reinsurance PLC (Ghana Re) was inaugurated on the 3rd day of June 2025.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, inaugurated the seven-member Board at Ghana Re’s head office. He administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the Board.
In his speech, Hon. Forson emphasized the importance of the Board’s role in managing the operations of Ghana Re to ensure its continued profitability.
He stated that Ghana Re is one of the best performing State-Owned Enterprises, with a strong balance sheet. Therefore, the Board is expected to manage operations to sustain or improve her fortunes.
Honourable Forson stated further that there are advanced plans to list good performing companies like Ghana Re on the Ghana Stock Exchange.
He pledged his Ministry’s unflinching support and readiness to provide the necessary assistance in the discharge of the Board’s duties.
Ghana Re’s Board is chaired by Mr. Samuel Kwadwo Sarpong. The other members are Mr. Seth Kobla Aklasi – Managing Director, Hon. Nurein Shaibu Migyimah – MP for Assin Central, Mr. Masawudu Mahama – the representative from the Ministry of Finance, Prof Joseph Yensu – Professor in Finance & Economics, Mr. Francis Kobena Addison – Chartered Insurer and Dr Richard Appietu – Chartered Accountant.
