Dr. Richard Kwasi Appietu, DBA, ACCA, CA(Gh) is a distinguished Banking and Finance professional with over 25 years of experience in strategic leadership across Ghana’s financial services sector. He has held key executive roles, including Managing Director and General Manager at SIC Life Savings & Loans, Head of Microfinance & SME at Fidelity Bank Ghana, and Micro Banking Manager at Barclays Bank Ghana (now Absa Bank Ghana).
With a strong foundation in corporate finance, microfinance, and financial inclusion, Dr. Appietu has led teams in both mainstream and developmental banking, delivering value through innovation, operational efficiency, and inclusive strategy execution.
Dr. Appietu is an alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School and holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Swiss Business School. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. His leadership education spans globally recognised institutions including Harvard Kennedy School (USA), London School of Business & Finance (UK), Retail Banking Academy (UK), Boulder Institute of Microfinance (Italy), and Nobel International Business School (Ghana).
