Professor Joseph Yensu

Professor Joseph Yensu is a distinguished academic and finance professional with expertise in corporate finance, development economics, entrepreneurship, and public sector finance. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at Kumasi Technical University, where he has held various academic leadership positions, including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development and Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Finance.

Prof. Yensu holds a PhD and an MSc (Diploma Supplement) in Finance from the University of Southampton (UK), an MBA in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and a BA in Social Science from the University of Cape Coast. He is also a certified trainer in Chartered Risk Analysis and Entrepreneurship, and has consulted extensively on private and public sector reform initiatives.

He has served as Lead Consultant under the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project, funded by the World Bank, and has undertaken numerous research and advisory assignments for organisations involved in SME development, employment policy, and financial inclusion. He is currently a Director at the Centre for Economic and Business Research and has presented scholarly papers at international conferences across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Professor Yensu brings to the Board of Ghana Reinsurance PLC a strong foundation in research, finance, and policy analysis, helping to shape the company’s strategic direction with data-driven insights and a commitment to sound governance principles.
