Dr. Appietu-Ankrah also holds a postgraduate degree in Risk Management from the Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK, and an undergraduate degree in Spatial Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
He is a Chartered Insurance Risk Manager, an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.

Dr. Appietu-Ankrah is the Chairman of Ghana Re’s Training Committee and coordinates the Treaty Renewal and Negotiations with Cedants. He is also passionate about imparting knowledge and has a lot of experience facilitating seminars and training programmes organised by Ghana Re, both on the domestic and international markets. Having attended several training workshops and seminars, he is knowledgeable in reinsurance underwriting, claims management, treaty development and pricing, risk management, pre and post loss insurance surveys.
He is an adjunct lecturer at the following institutions: the Ghana Insurance College, The Institute of Distance Learning, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and the School of Graduate Studies, University of Professional Studies, Accra.
His interest areas are Risk Management, Property and Liability Insurance, Reinsurance, Business Interruption, among others. He is an avid golfer and enjoys all others sports and games.
